A Bigger, Better Burger King comes to Palatka

 

   I'm a local Real Estate agent here in Palatka, which is a small town hosted by Putnam county located in Florida. I recently heard about the power of blogging and figured I would take a swing at it. Now bare with me, this is my first blog. Okay, I lied. It's my second blog because my draft I spent 3 hours on got deleted; my dog ate it. Can I get a lol?

  So I've lived here in Palatka the majority of my life. I've always been told I have a niche at talking to people. From my perspective I just like to help people no matter what it is. I recently started my employment at Coldwell Banker Ben Bates Inc. We have at least 150 years of experience under our roof and so far I love it.

  Okay, enough about me now let's get to the meaty stuff. Literally. Like a modernized Burger King coming to town. I know a burger joint ain't really the hottest topic in development. But seriously who can deny they don't love a quick easy food fix, which is usually a drive-thru? I'm guilty by account of the calories. Yes, I will biggie size that!

  So over the past few short weeks our old fossil of a Burger King got destroyed. Not by a giant meteor but by a bull dozer. Crushing, I know. And on the seventh day this gigantic structure erected from the ground like "Jack and the Bean Stalk". Me, like the rest of the people in our little town are nosey and was oh so curious to what was going on. We didn't know what we were getting. Fingers crossed for a Long Horn Steak House but it didn't happen.

  Well I put my salesman pants on that day and used my professional pursuit of a go-getter and got to the bottom of the little town syndrome a.k.a gossip. I pulled a couple strings by googling a phone number and talking to the project manager about what was going on. Long story short he wouldn't let me sell him a house. (just kidding)

  I can't deny I was pretty surprised at the info he had gave me though. Palatka was getting a brand new modernized Burger King! Not just any Burger King but possibly the biggest in Florida! Which might just be bigger then the biggest house in town, but don't quote me on that. To top that off he even claimed this is one of the largest investments the franchise has made in their nation wide make-over. And it's coming here, to Palatka!

  This new and improved Burger King of ours will have a 2 lane drive-thru. Which at first how can us Palatka folk wrap our minds around that? Ten years ago we probably had more dirt roads then paved roads yet alone a 2 lane drive-thru. Short story short, our old drive-thru was hypothetically like driving threw a redwood tree. Once someone was behind you, their was no looking back. You were eating Burger King and if you were late on your lunch break hopefully the bossman understands because he's done it.

  Food for thought #2, the glory days of a playground are making a come back! A indoor playground is being constructed at the front of the building. Now after spreading the news.. I'm not sure whose more excited the kids or parents or me. 

  I myself am personally ecstatic to be able to shed a little light on our little growing apple seed of a town. I took the audacity to publish these blogs not only for my self recognition but for some appreciation on the development of Palatka. In my opinion a few small puzzles pieces are what make the picture whole.
